How to run a padel Americano
An Americano is the easiest way to turn a group booking into a social night. Everyone plays with a different partner each round, games are a fixed number of points rather than sets, and you score individually. It’s the format most UK clubs use for Friday socials and beginner mixers. Read what an Americano is for the full rundown.
- Add everyone’s name, one per line. Four players fill a court; the generator works out how many courts you can use and who sits out each round.
- Pick the points per game. 24 is the standard. Each player serves four points in turn, so a 24-point game gives everyone a fair go on serve.
- Generate fixtures and read out round one. The schedule avoids repeat partners wherever it can, then avoids facing the same opponents.
- Enter one team’s score after each game and the other fills in automatically. The leaderboard updates as you go.
Americano or Mexicano?
Pick Americano for mixed-ability groups and first socials. You meet everyone, and a strong partner in one round balances out a weaker one in the next. Pick Mexicano once the group knows each other and wants closer games. After each round the generator pairs the leaderboard in fours, putting first and fourth against second and third.
Tips for organisers
Book courts for 90 minutes to two hours: six to eight rounds of 24 points fits comfortably with changeovers. Print the fixtures for the court fence, or share the link to the group chat so people can check who they’re with next. If you need somewhere to play, find padel courts near you or clubs with indoor courts for winter socials.
